Spread the Christmas House

There aren't many Christmas house tracks about. That's because they're very hard to make and do well. They either come to you as shitty techno remixes of a classic like the Jingle Bells music, or sound nothing like Christmas at all. Well today for you I have the cream of the crop, not excuses, but actual quality tracks which bear somewhat a resemblance to something Christmassy...

Nightbirds - Merry Christmas Mr Simon

Lovetraxx Limited - Christmas In Your Eyes

Okay I lied, so what? They're not very good (although I have to admit I do enjoy the first one a little). Yeah, they're shitty attempts at a Christmas house tune - but to be fair the truth is it's impossible to do one well. Enjoy them to the best you can nevertheless.

Celebrate a new America with music

Let us choose to congratulate Barack Obama on winning the USA:08 Election and becoming the next president of the United States. This is a new time for America, a new era, and what better way to celebrate with them, than a slice of dance pie?

Russell Brand

This has absolutely nothing to do with house music, I just thought that seeing as I've been ranting about it so much recently, so to all the British people who are reading this, I'd let you know where I stand on the whole thing. Perhaps if this reaches the BBC, they may think, "shit, this is what House Music 101 thinks - let's get Brand back!"

So Brand and Ross are phoning up Andrew, and trying to do a voicemail comically to the best of their ability on answerphone, and then Jonathon shouts out "HE FUCKED YOUR GWANDDAUGHTER!!" thinking that would be hilarious. My first point is, come on, it's Russell Brand, who hasn't he slept with, my second thought is - how is this so offensive? Great Britain, get over yourselves. It was a bloody joke.

Not only was it Jonathon Ross who made it worse, but Russell received the worst treatment in all this. It wasn't entirely those two's faults at that - let's not forget the producer and directors or whatever you have there who agreed to broadcast it, etc.

And now look what the BBC has done as a result. Russell has resigned. In the video I have attached to this post, you can see quite clearly the following:
  • He has apologised numerous times to Andrew about the event, not only on the actual day did he phone back and apologise, but he also went and apologised in person, and the apology was accepted by Andrew
  • He has resigned as a result - and Russell claims this is because he believes after this event he has taken it too far and no longer makes people laugh. Wrong. He never fails to make me laugh, and I love his radio show. This should never have gotten this far, why people are so offended by it I don't know...
And finally, here's what I think. The video shows that Russell reckons it is his fault he's leaving, and that he's grateful for the BBC for his radio show and he loves the BBC. I think, now that he's resigned, he should stick it to the BBC. He should say "I've left in outrage that I should be suspended for making a tiny joke that wasn't even offensive in the first place." He should be more hateful towards the BBC for caving into what everyone else wants. Support Russell, and as much as I am not so keen on Jonathon Ross, support him too. They did nothing wrong, and even if you think they did, they apologised - and even if you're still upset - Brand resigned and Ross has been suspended - and yet there are STILL people complaining about it, and it is still making the news.

To summarise, I am fucking outraged by this, by an unhealthy amount.

The entire globe is facing a financial meltdown, and yet this Brand/Ross vs Andrew's Granddaughter situation has received more airtime in the news that the worldwide recession. GET A FUCKING GRIP PEOPLE OF BRITAIN!

My Podcast

Just some news. I have had the best download figures than ever before recently, but I don't want it to stop there.

A few months ago, I was on maybe 300 downloads each month. But this has rapidly increased, and I am now getting increasingly large figures:
August 2008 - 1512 downloads
September 2008 - 2129 downloads
October 2008 - 3546 downloads
...and let's not forget I still have two more days to be counted for October!

The daily downloads ranges from anything between 60 and 130 downloads, which never fails to amaze me. Everytime I release a new episode, the podcast has over 300 downloads that day, which shows me I have well over 300 subscribers (including those who don't update that day).

Now, I want to add to that list. Please visit the podcast here, and download all the episodes you want, it's completely free and I love to receive comments. I never do, but the other week I got one (a positive one) so I thought I would plea for more.

Feel free also on the subject, to add me on MySpace here.

How does one apologise to millions of adoring fans?

This is the question I have had to ask myself. It has been a rather annoying week. Getting through Friday, Saturday, and Sunday without the internet was bad enough - but to have that extended through the whole of Monday as well was terrible. So here I am, after a hectic Tuesday, pleading for your forgiveness for failing to stick to the promise I made you. Two days after I said it would be, and five days overdue, here is your latest gift.

Again, read the legal disclaimer to the right and please don't just shrug it off, actually obey it. Thanks.

DJ DLG - Fantasy (Original Mix)
DJ DLG - Hypnotising (Original Mix)
A little piece of news from behind the scenes here at HM101. I spent hours debating whether to type the latter track out as "Hypnotising" or "Hypnotizing" because the actual track is with a 'z' not an 's' - but as an Englishman, I am doing the British thing of anglicising these americanisms. That's what we do. As an arrogant nation, we, the British, think that everything should be done our way or no way - who am I to argue?

Now that we've got the controversial topic of politics over...

Another track that has been swarming the house blogs over the past few days I notice. Not sure how old it is, but it's good, I know that much.
Coldplay - Clocks (Audible Remix)
...oh and when I use the term "swarming" I do actually mean I have seen it on two blogs, and that's just a copied link, so thanks to House Music 4 Life for that one.

You may be asking yourself, "why is he talking so much?" Here is the answer, in essay format for you:
As I am very tired and would quite prefer not to have to find a massive list of tracks for you, I have decided that rambling on in between each of the very few tracks I have provided you with is an excellent filler, and a great way for you to think that I have done my homework and written a large blog post. It's all to do with eye perception, you see? You visit the blog, see a big post and think "excellent" so you'll read and download the mere three tracks available.

Great. If you agree that this is great, send me an email. If you can find my email address that is. It shouldn't be around the blog I don't think, because I don't want you to send me an email saying "great" in agreement to the above. However, if you have any tracks, or comments, etc, please feel free to email me at danielholloway99@aol.com whenever you should feel necessary

Spookier by the day...

Continuing the spooky themed title period over the next week or so, here's some more tracks for you. Now then, before them actually, this will be it for tracks until Monday, so that's NO post tomorrow OR Sunday, because I am going somewhere where the internet is down. Unless the guy actually comes around, which I highly doubt he will, seeing as he was supposed to this morning but never showed up to fix the phoneline problems. Argh!

DB Boulevard - You're The One (Thomas Gold Remix)
I am really feeling this track. Tell me that you don't think it has a David Guetta sound to it, and you're...well...wrong

Honey Ryder - Fly Away (Chriss Ortega & Thomas Gold Remix)
A nice little tech-prog track for you guys

Rick Ross - Hustlin' (Paul Anthony & ZXX Remix)
A beautiful electro house tune... one of my favourites that I have posted recently

Roman Salzger - Solaris (Avicii Greets Joia Remix)
If you don't like this track then you must be mad. A must-have for the collection of any house-lover

And three wonderful tracks for Moonbeam fans out there:
Moonbeam - I See Who You Are (Original Mix)
Moonbeam - Cocoon (Original Mix)
Moonbeam - See The Difference Inside (Original Mix)

Plus a few "okays"
The Original - I Love You Baby
Hard Rock Sofa - Immersing (Noiz Remix)

Spooky isn't it?

I hope you don't mind the new banner for Hallowe'en. I was going to say like it, but then I realise you probably don't care enough to like it - let's face it, you're here for the music, not the banner. Anyways, Hallowe'en is probably my least favourite holiday. Why? What's good about children egging your house if you don't give them sweets (or candy to the readers overseas)? What's good about adults having to turn the lights off and pretend they're not in once a night every year? Nothing, I tell you, nothing. On the bright side, I am doing pumpkin carving tomorrow, so there's that to look forward to.

DJ Antoine - Stop (Filipe Guerra Intro Mix)
Obviously I like DJ Antoine, otherwise I wouldn't post it, but is it me or has he been everywhere recently? He's swarming the blogs like a bucket of dead flies.

Pryda - Wakampi (DJ DLG Re-Edit)
I love this track from Prydz' alias Pryda. Personally my favourite Pryda tune at the moment is Rafunk Miami, but there aren't many good remixes of it lying out there.

Joachim Garraud vs Furious Five - Are U Ready 4 The Message (Haydz Bootleg Mix)
A mashup of Joachim Garraud's beautiful "Are U Ready" against "4 the Message" predictably by Furious Five.

Bryan Adams - Summer of '69 (London Calling Remix)
For those who like 80s classics - remixed.

Kelis - Milkshake (Man Eat DJ & Jizm Remix)
Another remixy thang

MC Roby Rob - Where Is The Party (Enfant Terrible Remix)
There is a lovely remix of this with some other bloke, called "Tribute to Tryvann" - so if you like this track, get that one.

Moby - Disco Lies (The Dusty Kid's Fears Remix)
I love myself a bit of Dusty Kid. There's nothing better than "The Cat" on a Friday night.

Inkfish & David West - Hello Piano (Sebastien Leger Remix)
Woo. That's all I have to say for that one.

Electro Mixes 1, 2 and 3 for Download!

Recently I uploaded three gorgeous electro mixes to my podcast, literally, the best mixes I had ever done. And now, for those of you who don't get the podcast, I thought I would let you hear them here, as a sort of preview, and if you like, subscribe.

11th October - Electro Mix Part 1

This was the first electro mix, mind you not the best. But nevertheless, it had a bit of Sharam, David Guetta and Joachim Garraud in it. Enjoy!
Click here to download (or right-click and save as)

12th October - Electro Mix Part 2

Probably the best mix I have ever done. I could listen to this one again and again, but on second thoughts, the same could be said for the third mix... Quite a lovely little selection of tracks here, and what's best - this is the longest mix: 1 hour 20 minutes

13th October - Electro Mix Part 3

The third and final mix was just as pleasing as the second. Although not as long, I guess that only increases the novelty of it? A lovely mix, if you don't mind me saying so...

Again, just as a reminder, here's my very own track, read the description of it in the last post if you want, but more importantly, just download my track:
DJ Hollobombay - Sheep Cloud (Radio Edit)

Possibly a club mix to come, and I have asked of a friend to do me a short remix, so there's always that to look forward to if all else fails. See you soon, and...

A Little Project I've Been Working On...

Just listen or download and tell me what you think. I'm just learning the basics of this music making at the moment, so for now it's a simple remix of "Time to Fly," but seeing as it sounds nothing like the original, I have even given it my own name...

What've I Missed?

If you're in the mood for some trance, you may like this. Traditionally, I wouldn't post any trance because I hate the whole genre, but after a certain comment involving "I need more electro shit" (and I quote), I have decided to broaden the horizon, widen the depths and explore more genres. So allow us to venture into a bit of trance:
Ferry Corsten - Radio Crash (Original Extended Mix)
Ferry Corsten - Radio Crash (House Krush Mix)
Ferry Corsten - Radio Crash (Musikjunki Remix)

Here's a couple of tracks which seem to be quite popular at the moment, but I have to admit, I am not feeling any of Eric Prydz' remixes recently. There's not the same feeling in Prydz' remixes as there is to his original tracks...
Paolo Mojo & Jim Rivers - Ron Hardy Said (Original Mix)
Paolo Mojo & Jim Rivers - Ron Hardy Said (Eric Prydz Remix)

If the Klaas Remix of Fragma's "Memory" has been bugging you recently, have no fear, Klaas now brings you this one to be even more annoyed with popping up on every blog everyday:
Fragma - Memory (Klaas Climax Remix)

I am really loving the work of my pal Deadmau5 at the moment.
Deadmau5 - Ghosts And Stuff (Original Mix)
Deadmau5 - Clockwork (Cosmic Gate Remix) - may be a rip, but we like it!

Now then for the rest of the stuff. These are some of my favourite tracks at the moment, as well as a few others which I have found from other blogs and would care to share with you:
Axwell & Bob Sinclar Feat Ron Carroll - What A Wonderful World (Teo Moss & Fredulux Remix)
DB Pure - All Night Long (Original Mix)
Mooka - Cat In A Strange Barn (Xtence Remix)
That Mooka track has a weird name, and it's a weird, but lovely, tune

John O'Bir - Do It Again (Remixes)
Here you will find some lovely remixes of the "Do It Again" track. Enjoy them!
Tracklisting:
1 - Original Mix / 2 - Radio Edit / 3 - Activa Remix
4 - Activa Dub Mix / 5 - Duderstadt Remix / 6 - Duderstadt Dub Mix

Seeing as it's been a while, I ask you to please obey the rules. I beg and beg you to do this whole house music download thing legally, and without you doing so the industry will collapse, so please do. I can't be asked to type it out every post, so I ask of you to read the disclaimer to the right of the page and follow those set rules. Taa.

Taking a Quick Break

As you know, I post to this blog daily. Whether it be news, events, free music, up and coming artists, videos or my DJ mixes; you always get something...daily. But every now and then, I want to take a break from it all. At the moment, there are no good tracks out there. Which is why when I get back on Friday for another post, I want to see my mailbox full of tracks, especially your own. I would like nothing more than to be able to promote any of you unsigned musicians and DJs out there - so send me your mixes or tracks. Either use my SoundCloud box to the right which I have just installed and upload them to my account, or send them to my email: danielholloway99@aol.com

This is what I have scrambled up for you as a departure present, I mean, it's only 4 days right? But these "holidays" will most likely happen every three to five weeks or so...

DJ Antoine & Mad Mark - No More Lies (Original Mix)

DJ DLG - Xess

Michael Gray - Somewhere Beyond (DJ DLG Remix)
A double there from DJ DLG. I prefer his remix work to his actual tracks but that's one man's opinion.

Axwell - I Found U (Phatjak Sunsoaked Remix)
How have I never found this before? This is fucking amazing!

Do you remember a while ago I posted Energy 52's re-release of "Cafe Del Mar," well my mistake it was actual a new release from Michael Woods, from Out Of Office, anyways, here is a brand new edit of the original
Energy 52 - Cafe Del Mar (Dabruck & Klein Remix)

Alex Moreno & Albyn Myers - Love In Siberia
I'm not 100% convinced, but I thought some of you will like it. Plus it's just a mark of respect for one of my new favourite remixers, Albyn Myers, working on the production side now. He hasn't quite replaced Laidback Luke in my heart, there's only room for one legendary remixer.

And a brand new fresh tune:
Alex Dolby - Long Beach (Original Mix)

Before I go, a couple of things:
  • Firstly, apologies for a second mistake I made, this time in the last post. I said that Spencer & Hill's new track was called "Houseboat" but it is in fact called "Housebeat," which was brought to my attention by commenters, so well done to you, have a pat on the head, but that's not really a problem seeing as after download it appears as "Housebeat" in iTunes. Again, it shouldn't be a problem because you are supposed to delete it after 24 hours and buy a copy from iTunes Music Store or Beatport or something...
  • And secondly, when I return, I shall bring more changes with me. Given that the last two times I took a "holiday," I came back bringing the blog a gorgeous new look each time, I don't think you've had long enough with this look yet, so the change I am going to make will be in the posting. If it all carries through and I find a way to do it successfully, you shall have it this time Friday...
Until Friday then fellow house music lovers,

The three newest ones from S&H for you today, including the brand new release "Houseboat"

New Bombs: Roger Sanchez & Terri B, Dave Darell, Axwell & Bob Sinclar

Back after a whole day without a post...argh! Aren't I awful? Anyways, let's dive straight in the deep end:
Roger Sanchez & Terri B - Bang That Box (Avicii vs Philgood Bang That Vocal Mix)

Dave Darell - Freeloader (Original Mix)
Dave Darell - Freeloader (Club Mix)
Dave Darell - Freeloader (Spencer & Hill UK Club Mix)
Quite an enjoyable track here from Dave Darell, who was one of the remixers of that "Pirates of the Carribean" tune I posted way back before.
Private - Secret Lover (Spencer & Hill Remix)
I thought I would include another S&H remix there...

Master Blaster - Everywhere (Dave Ramone Remix)

Axwell & Bob Sinclar Feat Ron Carroll - What A Wonderful World (Nari & Milani Remix)
Yet another remix of the tune of the year here, and it's a good one at that

That's all the tracks for today - but if you're interested in remixing tracks yourself, then head over to our pal Swehouse for a magnificent bundle of accapellas. Seriously...It's Beginning to Piss Me off Now

I have had it up to here (imagine me putting my hand very high in the air) with Blogger. Now it's a nice little service, and you can do so many great things with it, but for fuck's sake, why the hell do they keep deleting posts. After looking around, I realise many bloggers on their servers suffer these problems, and I am sure it pisses them off too.

Anyways, I urge you please to click on the "follow this blog" button to the right if you could, it will only take you 2 seconds (literally) if you have a Google/Blogger account and would mean a lot to me. Thanks! Also, join the Facebook group whilst you're at it, subscribe to the podcast and the RSS feed for these posts. Add me on MySpace too if you feel like it.

Anyways (again), here's a few tracks for you for Wednesday, the 8th October, this beautiful year, 2008.

Felix Da Housecat & Diddy - Jack U (Original Mix)
Felix Da Housecat & Diddy - Jack U (Steve Angello & Sebastien Ingrosso Remix)
Felix Da Housecat & Diddy - Jack U (JKF MSTRKRFT Remix)

Tell me what you think please. It's nice to hear from Felix again isn't it?

Luke Chable & TV Rock - Happiness (Original Mix)
Luke Chable & TV Rock - Happiness (TV Rock Remix)
Luke Chable & TV Rock - Happiness (Nari & Milani Remix)
Luke Chable & TV Rock - Happiness (Luke Chable Extended Remix)
Luke Chable & TV Rock - Happiness (Eddie Thoneick Remix)

Again, share your thoughts. I have been loving the work of TV Rock recently, as have I Deadmau5. Just thought I'd mention it so I could casually drop in the fact that someone commented on my post yesterday. Woo. I seldom receive them, but do keep them coming.

Quite a few blogs have posted these recently, so I thought I would see what all the fuss is about:
Passenger 10 - Mirage (Original Mix)
Passenger 10 - Mirage (EDX 5un5hine Remix)*
Passenger 10 - Mirage (Dub Mix)
*I feel a little guilty posting this in that the "5un5hine" is clearly a rip off of Deadmau5... but I say no more

Axwell & Bob Sinclar Feat Ron Carroll - What A Wonderful World (Kurd Maverick Remix)

Fred Falke - Love Theme (Club Mix)

Ladyhawke - Back Of The Van (Fred Falke Remix)

This next one is a bit simple, but let's face it, it's from my personal friend Laidback Luke (when I say personal friend, I do of course mean he accepted my friend request on Facebook), so it must be good:
Mylo - Drop The Pressure (Laidback Luke 2008 Remix)

Oh and thanks to Roy Xspinn for these few tracks. I found some nice remixes of Prydz and a few others:
Eric Prydz - Pjanoo (Amine Edge & Sunny Fish Remix)
Eric Prydz - Pjanoo (E.F.F.E.C.T. Progressive Remix)
Eric Prydz - Pjanoo (Fred Falke Remix) I know I posted it before but what the hell
Crystal Castles - Crimewave (La Riots Remix)

How's that for a nice long post? See you all again tomorrow.
Shout out to Josh. Because I can.

Deadmau5 is back with a brand new tune, it's called "Clockwork" and he never fails to satisfy. Not quite up there with "Fifths" and "Hi Friend," but nevertheless an excellent tune still, he cannot do badly.

Deadmau5, we bow down to you sir.

Deadmau5 - Clockwork (Original Mix)
Deadmau5 - Clockwork (Jonas Steur Ultra Violence Remix)

[Apologies for the lack of posts recently, I was away for one week, and to be honest now that the summer season is over, no one is releasing anything good. I shall try and scramble up some more posts over the coming weeks, to make it up to you]

Anyway, remember the rules, especially today considering the large amount of tracks there are here. Delte after 24 hours or so, and buy them. Not only is it respecting the artists, but you get a nice warm feeling inside (I'll say anything). Read the disclaimer if you're unsure. It's on the right-hand side.

Welcome back (again)

Just a quick announcement, every so often a guest publisher, I, DJ Maxx, will be taking over, posting some of the music I love. OaO!

We're back...and bigger than ever

House Music 101 is back, and has made a triumphant return with this sexy new look. Well, I hope you like it because it is staying for a while. Another thing I forgot to mention last week was the new "Tune of the Week" player I installed in the blog. Situated on the right-hand side of the blog is an imeem player, which tells you my "Tune of the Week" and you can hear it and buy it there.

I have also made a few other changes to the blog, like changing font colours, link colours and adding bits and bobs here and there, but nothing too extravagant apart from everything I have already outlined, so on with the tracks.

Passenger 10 - Passenger 10 (DJ Vod Remix)
Such a nice feel to this track. Perfect for those Friday night warm ups. Great vocals and all.

R.I.O. - When The Sun Comes Down (Spencer & Hill Radio Edit)
A great foreign feel to this funky house track, nice radio mix version
R.I.O. - When The Sun Comes Down (Original Mix)
R.I.O. - When The Sun Comes Down (Dirty Rush Live In Rio Mix)

Geo Da Silva - I'll Do You Like A Truck (Kid Chris & DJ Sign Remix)
Another gorgeous track here. A cross between the previous two (funky foreign house track with nice vocals)

Robbie Rivera - Star Quality (Robbie Rivera Nasty Juicy Remix)

And thanks to Swehouse for this one:
Katy Perry - I Kissed A Girl (Morgan Page Club Mix)
Apparently, the best remix around of the track, I don't know if I agree, but I can confirm it is pretty damn good

Now for a tune that should be massive in the months to come:
Redroche - Give U More (Original Mix)
Redroche - Give U More (Redroche Re-Edit)
Redroche - Give U More (Instrumental Dub)

And a few other tracks for your collection:
M.A.N.D.Y & Booka Shade - O Superman
Fatboy Slim - Rockafeller Shank (Klubbheads Tech Soul Bootleg)
Antoine Claraman - Fever (Original Mix)

Remember the rules, I have updated the legal and disclaimer - you are expected, as fellow house music lovers, to obey and stick to the rules by respecting the artists and buying their tracks. Do not forget we ask of you to please delete these tracks from your library after 24 hours and purchase them - help keep the industry alive!

Enjoy, and until next time...

End of a Beautiful Era... [For Now]

Here's the good news. I have some tracks for you. Here's the bad news. Before the tracks, I have some bad news to share.

So here is the bad news: there will be no more tracks until Friday 3rd October. That's in five days time. I know it's sad and feels like the end of an era, but don't worry, I shall return then.

Actually, on second thoughts there is another piece of good news before today's post. House Music 101 is announcing a new sister blog coming in October/November time, called House Music 202. I'll reveal more about the sister site on Friday's post when I return, and explain what it's all about.

For today then, as a very small departing present, enjoy these:
Fragma - Memory (Klaas Dub Mix)
Nice new one from our pal Fragma there

Loventina - Nightshift (Original Mix)
Good progressive house sound

This track is from the amazing blog Digital Eargasm. It's by Sweet 17 and it's called "Supabeat." It's a great little electropop tune, enjoy it!
Sweet 17 - Supabeat

And this post has an exclusive album. It's all the remixes you could shake a stick at from Soft Cell. The album is called "Heat (The Remixes)" and has two disks of gorgeous mash-ups and remixes from our favourite Soft Cell tracks. Enjoy (tracklisting below)!
Soft Cell - Heat (The Remixes)

Pirates Love House Music 101... Still

A few days ago, Blogger deleted this post, but no worries, I have heard Blogger are known for having their technical issues, so here it is...again...

A tune is set to be one of the biggest of the season now as we move into the Winter house season. It's only 6 months to go until the launch of Winter Music Conference 2009, but oddly only 2 months until the actual Winter season - don't ask why the WMC is in March every year, it just is.

Anyway, this essential new tune is a mash-up of the Pirates of the Caribbean theme tune, and its by the dark horse DJ who goes by the name of Scotty:
Scotty - Pirates of the Caribbean (Radio Edit)
Scotty - Pirates of the Caribbean (Club Mix)
Scotty - Pirates of the Caribbean (Dave Darell Radio Edit)
Scotty - Pirates of the Caribbean (Dave Darell Remix)
Scotty - Pirates of the Caribbean (Trance Mission Mix)
Scotty - Pirates of the Caribbean (Steve Satellite Radio Edit)
Scotty - Pirates of the Caribbean (Steve Satellite Remix)

This IS a new must-have, and I love it, so tell me your thoughts on Scotty's new track.

If you're into funky-deep mash-ups of pop tunes, take this one, it's very nice:
Coldplay - Viva La Vida (King Richard Remix)

I'm not so convinced with this one, it's very amateurish, but nevertheless it works:
Dirty South & Axwell vs Madonna & Justin - 4 Minutes to Let It Go

These tracks, I am LOVING them all:
Eric Prydz vs Oasis - Pjanoo vs Wonderwall Hot remix mash-up
Maria Ochoa - Blow It Up (Original Mix) Amazing house tune

Again, if you download any of these tracks please obey the rules and read the legal disclaimer on the right of the blog. More to come tomorrow, but more importantly...

Where Do Lonely Bloggers Go?

I have an official announcement to make: there are no good tracks out there. I cannot find any, which is why I took this occasion as a sign. A sign we needed more variety on the blog, so I introduce to you, the Essential Mix Package. Every while, I shall post some excellent Essential Mixes (you know, from BBC Radio 1, the show fronted by Pete Tong), as well as other DJ mixes from the wide world out there. Now appreciate that they are mixes of between one and three hours long, so don't be amazed if they take 40 minutes to download, just go with it. But every link I post here, I will have downloaded the mix myself, so there are no viruses and I can only repost quality mixes. Without further ado...

Thanks to New Mixes for these links, visit them for more and please support them. They do amazing stuff!

This Week's Essential Mix:

New Bombs: Eric Smax, Thomas Gold, DJ Antoine, Flo Rida, Katy Perry & Dirty South

Some amazing tracks for you today. But first I just want to show my support for House Music 4 Life. HM4L does great things for the music industry, and has done nothing wrong. It is unfair that a fantastic site which dishes out free promotion for artist be bossed around by the heads at Blogger, but that's how it goes and none of us can argue. So we must move on. My thoughts are with you. Support them by joining the Facebook Group, which will keep you posted on what's going on if the blog should all of a sudden be shut down by Blogger.

Onto today's posts after that sad note, and again, do give me your comments. This group of tracks is flippin amazing, I absolutely love it.
Eric Smax, Thomas Gold & Niels Van Gogh - Want 2 Be (Club Mix)
Eric Smax, Thomas Gold & Niels Van Gogh - Want 2 Be (Eric Smax & Thomas Gold Mix)

Eric Smax, Thomas Gold & Niels Van Gogh - Want 2 Be (Van Gogh's Non-Stop Dub Mix)

Soul Avengerz & Zena Chavez - Move (Ian Carey & Brad Holland Remix)
Soul Avengerz & Zena Chavez - Move (SoundBridge Remix)
A nice funky house track here... mixed gorgeously into some electro beats... excellent remixes!

The next three tracks I haven't had time to download yet, so feel free to comment:
Flo Rida - In The Ayer (Jeremy World Remix)
Hyper Crush - Pop Lock
Popov - I'm The Man In My City (Dirty Electro Fix)

Katy Perry - Hot & Cold
This download link contains a .rar file of a few mixes... nice stuff

And now, ladies and gentlemen... a massive treat. And I do remind you of the rules. If you download files from here, please delete them after 48 hours and purchase them on either iTunes or Beatport. I remind you now because this is a big giveaway so do not just take it without paying, find it and buy it!! (Visit Beatport here)

This is the UNMIXED version of Dirty South's Toolroom Knights. Please, again, I remind you, download and pay for these tracks. Thanks for "That DJ Music Blog" for this one, recognition to you...

Download Part 1 here
Download Part 2 here
Download Part 3 here

Again, these are unmixed, again but them for real if you like. These are for promotional use only. Each of these downloads is a .rar file (similar to a .zip file) so once downloaded, you'll need to extract the tracks from them, and then import them into your chosen music program.

Free Electro DJ Mix Just For You

I recorded this DJ electro mix a while back. I do some virtual DJing occasionally and this is the best one I have recorded in a while. It will be going onto my podcast soon, but not for a good few months, so this an unfront exclusive for House Music 101 followers. For more mixes like this, visit the podcast, where you can listen/download them or subscribe in iTunes: www.djhollobombay.mypodcast.com

This mix is called "Electro Mix (Part 2)" because I did three of them, and mixes two and three were the best, so I decided to give you the second mix. Here's the download link:

Episode 09 - The Comedown Mix

The next series of tracks for the podcast is slightly mellower than usual, as the podcast description will explain, however, I have kept the usual deep house and electro tune in there somewhere...

PODCAST DESCRIPTION:
You subscribers deserve an internet hug *internet hug* for what you have done. I know I am not exactly the best DJ and that my podcast doesn’t bring in all the listeners, but the figures are higher than ever still, and are closely rivalling my previous podcast, which was actually, as much as I hate to blow my own trumpet, quite successful. This is all thanks to you, so muchas gracias subscribers and newcomers, enjoy the show. I thought that I should post November's mix now because I am most likely to get into the habit of forgetting to update.

Today’s mix is called the comedown mix because really it started off with tunes that are perfect for your return after a night clubbing. When you’ve just got back after a night out (provided you’re alone ;p) there’s nothing better to loosen up to a bit of chill out dance, and the first few tracks are just perfect for that. However, my mixes sort of go off track whenever I try and stick to a theme, so there’s a tiny bit of electro and some deep house in there too, but mostly it’s chill out Ibiza zone.

Tracklisting (Episode 09):
[0:00:00] Def Jaguar & Flip

[0:06:05] Eric Smax & Terri B

Stephan Evans Remix

Once again I thank you for your support, and as in last month’s mix, I thought I’d supply you with another *cough, cough* true house-related fact. Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso are not only close-working DJs, but they were also the first duo to reach the top of Everest alone. Stay with the podcast for more amazing facts, and more importantly, more mixes. Please subscribe, rate and comment, as I ask you to and no one ever does comment or rate, it’d be nice. Thanks again, oh yeah, and here’s the legal stuff coming up, I know how much you enjoy that. But first, I think I’ll give you these websites, because they’re normally after the legal section and I doubt any of you read the legal so you probably miss it (please do read the legal bit though as well, it would make me happy):

www.myspace.com/hollobombay - add me
www.house-music-101.blogspot.com - the blog
www.djhollobombay.mypodcast.com - the podcast

Oh, and one last note, I know a month ago I used the TV Rock & Rudy track “Been A Long Time,” but this mix uses Axwell’s instrumental mix, before was the vocal club mix.

No track in this podcast is my own work, and belongs completely to their owners, all of whom are specified in the tracklisting (see above). Under no circumstance is it acceptable, or by any means lawful, for any listeners of this podcast to pass on this podcast or its contents, nor may they rip tracks from it. This is an unlawful act and is unfair to the artists and, indeed, the whole industry. I make these podcast purely for fun and to show people my work, not to hand out free tunes or for my own profit, this is a non-funded network. Thank you. (Note: If you like any tune in this podcast, all are available either in iTunes, BeatPort.com or both, so please feel free to purchase them)

Laidback Luke & Salzer - Generation Noise (Original Mix)
Laidback Luke & Salzer - Generation Noise (TV Rock Remix)
Laidback Luke & Salzer - Generation Noise (Afrojack Remix)
Laidback Luke & Salzer - Generation Noise (Twocker Remix)
Now I await the next Laidback Luke release as much as the next guy, but I wasn't deeply amazed at the sound of this one. You may think this sounds pretty harsh, especially since it's actually a pretty safe track, and I'd give it 4 out of 5 stars, but for LL I expect at least 6 stars out of 5. Anyway, quite a good track, so tell me what you think.

Here are quite a few tracks which have been swarming the blogs recently:
Hoxton Whores - In The Bag (Tocadisco Remix)
MGMT - Kids (Soulwax Mix)
Switch, Ant & DNA - Xpand
Switch, Ant & DNA - Xclusive

And now to continue with the bombs:
Modjo - Lady [Hear Me Tonight] (Eric Prydz 2008 Re-Edit)
Hot new remix of that classic dance anthem from thousands of years ago

Your second remix from Prydz for today, this time in the form of Axwell's tune

D Ramirez & Dirty South - Shield (Original Mix)
D Ramirez & Dirty South - Shield (Ramirez B Movie Mix)
D Ramirez & Dirty South - Shield (Mastiksoul Remix)
D Ramirez & Dirty South - Shield (Base Cartel Mix)

Hot Trax: Axwell, Ingrosso, Angello & Hoxton Whores

I've found some great new stuff here, making sure you don't go empty handed on a Tuesday afternoon, here they are:

Axwell & Sebastien Ingrosso - Together 2008 (Kyle Watson Bootleg)
I love "Together" it has that sort of Funkerman feel to it in the vocals, but definitely speaks Axwell & Ingrosso in the music itself. Gorgeous summer track for any house lover.

Dada Life - Sweeter Than Fever (David West & Ida Engberg Remix)
Quite a nice track, a bit Deadmau5, but nowhere near as good.

Steve Angello - Gypsy (Alvaro Remix)
Trust me, even if you weren't so keen on "Gypsy" you will like this edit. A nice vibe going on in this track, and for me I'm even tempted to call it a "must-have"

Stereo MCs - Black Gold (Fedde Le Grand Remix)
Fresh track for you here - released in the early hours of yesterday, yes this track isn't even 48 hours old yet! A nice track for the collection though, even if you're not a huge fan of Stereo MCs, or even DJ FLG.

Here's another 2 tracks that have been featured everywhere recently:
KOS - Azteka (Original Mix)
KOS - Azteka (Kos' Stadium Mix)
Leave your comments on them two, I am undecided at the moment...

Plus some more fresh tracks, take what you want:
Shapeshifters - Lola's Theme 2008 (Eric Prydz Remix)
Blake Jarell - The Drugs (Rene Amesz Remix)
Hoxton Whores - Dawn Rising (Club Mix)
