Russell Brand

This has absolutely nothing to do with house music, I just thought that seeing as I've been ranting about it so much recently, so to all the British people who are reading this, I'd let you know where I stand on the whole thing. Perhaps if this reaches the BBC, they may think, "shit, this is what House Music 101 thinks - let's get Brand back!"

So Brand and Ross are phoning up Andrew, and trying to do a voicemail comically to the best of their ability on answerphone, and then Jonathon shouts out "HE FUCKED YOUR GWANDDAUGHTER!!" thinking that would be hilarious. My first point is, come on, it's Russell Brand, who hasn't he slept with, my second thought is - how is this so offensive? Great Britain, get over yourselves. It was a bloody joke.

Not only was it Jonathon Ross who made it worse, but Russell received the worst treatment in all this. It wasn't entirely those two's faults at that - let's not forget the producer and directors or whatever you have there who agreed to broadcast it, etc.

And now look what the BBC has done as a result. Russell has resigned. In the video I have attached to this post, you can see quite clearly the following:
  • He has apologised numerous times to Andrew about the event, not only on the actual day did he phone back and apologise, but he also went and apologised in person, and the apology was accepted by Andrew
  • He has resigned as a result - and Russell claims this is because he believes after this event he has taken it too far and no longer makes people laugh. Wrong. He never fails to make me laugh, and I love his radio show. This should never have gotten this far, why people are so offended by it I don't know...
And finally, here's what I think. The video shows that Russell reckons it is his fault he's leaving, and that he's grateful for the BBC for his radio show and he loves the BBC. I think, now that he's resigned, he should stick it to the BBC. He should say "I've left in outrage that I should be suspended for making a tiny joke that wasn't even offensive in the first place." He should be more hateful towards the BBC for caving into what everyone else wants. Support Russell, and as much as I am not so keen on Jonathon Ross, support him too. They did nothing wrong, and even if you think they did, they apologised - and even if you're still upset - Brand resigned and Ross has been suspended - and yet there are STILL people complaining about it, and it is still making the news.

To summarise, I am fucking outraged by this, by an unhealthy amount.

The entire globe is facing a financial meltdown, and yet this Brand/Ross vs Andrew's Granddaughter situation has received more airtime in the news that the worldwide recession. GET A FUCKING GRIP PEOPLE OF BRITAIN!
